Notice the slow metronome mark (46) in this piece. This is the speed of the "big" one, the governor - the semi-breve. Getting the feel for playing with this pulse is good training for nearly all renaissance polyphony and has the advantage also of helping us to keep the bar lengths equal at the tempo change. 4 whole bars in at the beginning for this one. This is a trickier little piece than the earlier titles but take your time; I hope that you enjoy it. JW

Don't spend TOO long on this one: it's the sort of transposition that is tricky to get on top of. Use it to master those in-tune C#'s. I have put in the 2nd part using the tenor cornett and, if you happen to have one of those, you may like to do the same. Otherwise this is fine on the treble instrument. Happy playing! Jeremy
